Beach Day

Adeyiza had the day off on Friday,,,, so we rented a car,,, found a beach,,,, packed our bags,,,,, and left for the day!!!! It was soooo nice to take a little family trip. The beach was only 40 minutes from our house. It was so pretty. The water was a bit cold, but we had a great time anyway. NO swimming this time.... way TOO cold for any of us!! Tonight we are going to a free concert downtown. Certera is his name. AKA Karate Kid Movie song. That's how I remember him. It's located at the same park we run at,,,, so we will head down after dinner!!!! What a fun weekend!!!!!!!!!

I Can Feed Myself!!!!

Grace can eat all by herself. Wow,,, who said being a mother is hard work,,??? Each month she needs me less and less. HA HA... I know!! No matter what age they are,,,, they can still be challenging. It's so great though!! Yesterday we took another trip to a different library for Baby Wiggle. This class was free,,, and is was a ZOO!! But again,,, Grace had a great time. These classes tire her out. She slept the whole way home. Today,,,, GET THIS,,, we both took a 2 and 1/2 hour nap together. We needed to rest up I guess. Tomorrow Adeyiza rented a car and we are going to the beach. (I hope anyway!) We are trying to find it as we speak. So I hope to post BEACH pictures next time!

Picnic Day!

Grace and I went back to the Frog Pad today. It's such a pretty place! The weather has been so nice, so I thought I should take advantage of these hot days! She got in the water again, dried off, and then we ate lunch together. We both spread out on the blanket for a bit, people watched, and then packed up and left for home. Grace was really tired after all that, so she slept the whole way home. It's about a 40 minute walk to get there, so we left our house around 10:15 and got home about 2:00. It was fun though! We may just stay home tomorrow. But,,,,, who knows!!! I know soon we will have winter and I will have no choice but to stay inside,,,, so we'll see!!!

But Mom,,, I want it!

So one day I made a tasty banana drink for MYSELF!!! Grace wanted it soooo bad. I set it down, grabbed my camera, and BAM she tipped it over!! TOO bad,,, BUT she loved playing in it,, so it turned out to be a fun activity for a while!!!

NEW FACE

This is Grace's NEW face. OH MY it is soooo cute!! She will crinkle her nose,,, and blow it in and out ,,, back and forth! I have it on video,,, (the one I was talking about) I will get Adeyiza to help me download it. This is the cutest thing she's ever done. (OK many things are the cutest!)

Little Movers

Today Grace and I went to visit a group called Little Movers at the Boston Library. Basically it's a group of infants with their mothers, and we all sing, dance, play instruments, play parachute, and explore different sounds (and each other). It was a great experience though and Grace LOVED it!! I always wondered what those groups were like. I also wondered how Grace would act. She was SOOOO cute,,, and as the director said, "WOW,,, she's sharp!" SHe would move to the music,,, and talk during it too. The ONLY bad thing was that it was an hour walk. Ummm ........I think I took the long way. Anyway,,, I did meet another mother and she gave me different directions home. The way home was only 30 minutes. SO,,, I hope to go back next week. I think this is one group I will try to join and go each week. I think it will be great for Grace to see other kids. On the way home we stopped at a very busy intersection and played in the grass. We both had a snack and then headed home shortly after. Grace was soooo tired,, so she slept and I walked us back safe and sound!!! It was a busy day I guess. It's already late and we are both tired!! I need to keep her up though for 2 more hours. Tomorrow I think we are going back to the Frog Pad. We will be going alone though. Gemma went to her grandma's house. Plus, they are about to leave this week. Boo Hoo. Oh well,,, we are having fun anyway.

Pay Attention Grace!!!!

I love the way Grace looks during her morning song time and during the reading program. She will really get serious,,, then start clapping and moving around a little after. Good girl Grace!! She knows Mommy is strict in that area!!!! FOCUS FOCUS FOCUS!!!!!

Frog Pad With Gemma

We had another GREAT adventure with this little girl Gemma. The same little girl in the swing. We went to a beautiful garden just up the road. It was amazing!!! They had all sorts of little rides, beautiful flowers, Swan Boat Rides, parks (big and little), Frog Pad Cafe, and then the Frog Pad. This was a HUGE area where tons of kids get in the water (not even knee deep) and cool off. The girls had a ton of fun. Gemma is 16 months, so she was walking around in it. I would take Grace around and dip her in once in a while. But for the most part she just sat by the water sprout. WE sure did have a fun time though. After the two played, we dried them off, changed their clothes, and they ate lunch together. The two of us (Gemma's mom) had the BEST frozen yogurt EVER!!! I keep running in to all the yogurts places and think they are the best. Anyway,,, it was cool and refreshing. It was suppose to rain, so we all packed up and headed home. It does take about 3-4 miles to get to any place you want to go, so you have built in exercise no matter what. Grace doesn't seem to mind. She will either sleep, chew on a toy, or people watch. It did start to sprinkle on our way home, so I did a bit more jogging to make sure we wouldn't get caught in the rain. WE made it!! Safe and DRY!!!!!!!!!!

I want to take Adeyiza to the same park today. They have huge areas where you can throw a blanket down and enjoy. I thought,,, he can study,,, while Grace and I explore!! SO we will see. Also,,, we made it out for dinner for the first time last night. I put her down at her regular time( in her crib), when we were ready I had to get her in the stroller. We were "thinking" she would sleep soundly,,, but NOPE! She was wide awake and fussed a bit in the restaurant. BUT,,,, Adeyiza took her outside, pushed her around, came back in, and we enjoyed the rest of our meal together!! It almost felt like we were alone for a minute. I hope she gets used to that. We do need to get out once in a while. Again,,, no sitters,,, so we have to make it work!! We had a great time though,,and the best thing about it was (well just being out together) BUT,,, it's a restaurant connected to our building and it was GREAT!!!!

Grace.... Really????

No,,, this is not how she rides sometimes! No,,,, she is not putting on an act!! No,,,, she will NOT ride any other way!! YES,,, this is how Grace rides in her stroller 95% of the time. I AM SERIOUS!!! I was walking again with her,,, as we always do,, and I just realized that the people who actually stop and talk or say something (people are a bit rude here,,, but that's another blog!) will ask me, "That is so cute, does she really put her feet like that herself?" I say,, OH YES! Here is the funny thing. When I put her shoes on, for some reason the extra padding is just enough so that she can lift her feet over to put on the bar. So she will kick and kick until I take them off,,, or they fall off. It's so funny! So yesterday I told myself that I just have to get this on the blog,,, I am sure most of you will just laugh. She is something else!!

Eggs, Eggs, and more EGGS!!!

Well, Grace has decided that she LOVES eggs and toast for breakfast! I have been rotating a variety of breakfast foods, but she insists on eating eggs. In MI we tried giving them to her, and she kind of ate them,,,,, but not really. OH NOW,,,, totally different story. She gets so excited once she sees me get the pan out,,, her arms go crazy and she starts her noises!! Graces also loves protein shakes. Recipe: soy milk, fat free yogurt, fruit 9berries or a banana), protein powder, and ice. (Kathleen's recipe!) She only gets a little though,,,,she loves them!

Yippy!! Daddy's Home!!!

Sometimes he makes it,,,,, sometimes he doesn't! Adeyiza that is!!! Work isn't that bad, as far as his hours go, but with Grace sometimes going to bed before 7:00, he would have to get out VERY early!! It's so cute to watch how excited she gets when he is able to spend some time with her. She was up a tad later last night,,, but that's ok. She is taking a long nap to make up for it (going on hour 2). Oh and since she took that long nap.............. I WAS ABLE to finish unpacking ALL our boxes!!! I am almost 100% finished. Just a few little things around that I need to find space for,,, but it feels WONDERFUL!!! Now my free time can be spent doing something beside unpacking! Let the fun begin :)
