Ready For School

 

Just thought I would add these 2 cute pics of Grace.

She still loves school and is learning so much. She can write her name and is really starting to know her letters/sounds. Very proud of her!!!

Come on..Where is the popcorn???

 

 

Here is what they do pretty much every night. After bath and pj's.... John will start to say "Popcorn" until we go downstairs to pop it. He will get in the cupboard and pull out 2 bowls for him and Grace. Then he helps me "pop" it. He will open the bag- put it in the microwave- and push the number 2! Then they take the bowls and run to the couch. They wait for me to come dump the popcorn in their bowls - and then chow down time!!! Ha ha I love it!! It's kind of a more recent thing than I guess. But it's cute.

 

I guess it's been a while. A WEEK!! I know... a whole week. We've been keeping busy - perhaps too busy. We've had lots of snow, play dates, fun activities, and just our regular busy mornings. Other than that- not too much going on I guess. John had another double ear infection last week. We will go back to the doctor on Monday to make sure it's 100% all cleared up. I knew it- bc he had a long sleepless night. I just know now when he has them. However- he's only had 3 - so they are not concerned YET! So we'll see.

 

I have a bunch of cute pics to post. They are really into exploring with jelly beans, skittles, ice, snow, and glitter right now. So stay tuned. AND no.... they don't get to eat it all... just play with it and explore!! ha ha

Grace and Rabbit

What a day!!! Ok let's back up. So.... Sunday we went to Grand Rapids to stay with my sister and her kids. They played and played the whole time!! Of course they had a blast. Grace found this rabbit in their basement and LOVED it!!! Kaitlyn gave it to her- even though it was Aunt Erin's to begin with. Ha ha. I guess she had it when she was a little girl. But now- it's Grace's new BFF!!!  She sleeps with it- plays with it- feeds it- you know... just everything. So now- this is her list of things she sleeps with : her pink puppy, kitty, 2 baby bunnies, this rabbit, and 2 babies- oh and her alarm clock. Yup- all that in her bed every nap time- and bed time. She sleeps with her alarm clock- bc I had to get her one. In the mornings she was coming downstairs at 5:00 - or 5:30- now she has to look at her clock. If it says 7 she can come down. If not- she has to sleep until it does. IT WORKS!!!! It's really helped her and she hasn't been down before 7 since.

 

So last night John was crying on and off all night!!! I thought ... Hmmmm this sounds like an ear infection cry-but I wasn't sure. No temp at the time or any other signs. So come morning- he was still winning- but now with a temp. I called the doc and got an apt. for later that day. Sure enough- another double ear infection. Poor JOHN!!! However- he started feeling better towards the end of the night - So I'm hoping he will feel better now that he has meds.

 

OK that's all today!!!I just heard a cry. 

Happy Valentine's Day!

 

Grace and John woke up to a special surprise from daddy.  (I left them goodie bags) But he left them chocolate covered marshmallows!!

 

Yes- I did let them eat them after breakfast!! Come on.. it's Valentine's Day!

 

John loved his little goodie bag!!

 

After breakfast..... Grace and I were off to start our morning! John stayed home with the sitter!

 

 

 

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!

 

WE had a great sugar fested day!!!

 

After breakfast and chocolate covered marshmallows (strawberries were left for me- yes chocolate and my favorite!) Grace had gymnastics so off we went. She was so excited for today! She knew it was another Valentine Day- so she was ready!! Her school party was yesterday- so here we are celebrating day 2. Anyway- we went to gymnastics- and then spent the morning together doing "girly" things until we went home. All together we had a fun- high calorie day. But that's ok- it's needed sometimes!!!

 

 

Noodle Nose

 

Grace is usually a very well behaved little girl.... however one night I was cleaning up from dinner and she started to giggle. I look over to see these 2 noodles in her nose. Sometimes you just have to have fun right???

 

Her Valentine's Day party was today. She came home with a bag full of Valentine's. It was so much fun going through them. She loved it!!! She even gave John a sucker.

 

We went outside this afternoon. It was around 35* so we took advantage of this warm day. Ha ha NOT warm - but it sure did feel warmer than usual. It was sunny - so that always helps.

 

Tomorrow I'm taking Grace to gymnastics and then a special morning out with mom. John has no clue what's going on- so I thought I would take her out for a special Valentine morning since she's so excited. I love when they finally know what 's going on. Ha ha That's about it today!!!

Valentine's Day

 

 

This picture was actually on Grace's "Leader Day". On the day you are assigned to be the leader - you bring snack, a book to share, and you get to be in the front of the lines. I am not sure what else they get to do- but these few responsibilities were the obvious.

 

Tomorrow is her Valentine's Day party. I have to say- I love sll the "school" tasks we get to do. Making cards, getting gifts for the teachers, and on and on. It's just fun and she loves doing things too. She is a very giving little girl!!!  We have all of our Valentine's in a bag ready for the party. They are also making ice cream sundaes. That should be fun!!! Soon enough it will be John's turn!

Kiwi Boy

One night for dinner they had Kiwi and John wanted it whole. I cut it up first and he said "No- big one!" So I peeled another one and gave it to him. He took it - and shoved the whole thing in his mouth. It was funny- but then scary! Once I saw him chewing it and noticed it was shrinking- I was relieved!!! So silly.

 

Oh but today was a scary moment. See John is pretty much past the "everything" in the mouth stage- however- now we are doing the "everything" in the nose stage. I can't leave him for 2 seconds and he will put something in his nose. Most of the time it's no big deal bc I try to keep all the dangerous items picked up- but today he climbed up Grace's drawers and he found a bead. I could hardly see it- and he started to sneeze and get irritated. I was sooooo thankful Adeyzia was home at this time. We had to lay him on the bed- hold him down - and Adeyzia used a pair of his surgical tweezers to get it out. OH MY! I was scared bc I thought it was going farther up to where we would of had to take him to the ER. But daddy saved the day!!!! I can say I don't like close calls like these. I panic and get scared. However- I always hug them hard when something scares me and then I thank God nothing happened.

Library

Here is a cute pic of them at the library today. I wrote about it down below- but then thought to add this before I go to bed.

 

They did pretty good. John was getting loud after the 5th book so we left shortly after.

Rice Play

 

I love how John concentrates on his rice play. Look at that open mouth/tongue.  Ha ha

 

 

Out with the beans and macaroni ..... in with the rice!!!

 

I changed out the mac and beans to rice for a while. Keep it interesting right? Ha ha. Well I try to anyway. They absolutely loved it. However rice is a tad bit more messy! The rice goes all over the floor- but you know what.... I've had to let a lot of "little" things go that bother me. Messes used to be one believe it or not- but now it doesn't even phase me. The fun they have and knowing it will be cleaned up- is what matters the most now. Can't sweat the small stuff.

 

Today we went to the library with some friends. They did good. We didn't last too long. John started getting loud. He wasn't a bad boy or anything- just loud. I tell them we have special whisper library voices- so I know he'll understand with time. We read a few books and then left.

 

We are suppose to get a snow storm tonight, So far NOTHING! So we'll see what's going to happen over night. Other than that- that's it. Nothing is going on this weekend but playing here.  I'm sure we will all go to the gym and perhaps the "Pancake House". As we call it- (IHOP). They love to go out for breakfast- so we may do that again.

Time Out

Naughty naughty John!!!

 

Sometimes John gets put in time-out for be a bad boy!! He sure can be a stinker sometimes.

 

 

Today was an ordinary Tuesday. Swim class, gym, Chucky - Cheese. I try not to do Chucky Cheese to often- like maybe twice a month or even less- but it's fun for now. Plus in the Spring/Summer we will be outside more- so we will only go on gloomy days. Grace has a friend that goes to swim class at the same time now. It's great bc her mom and I are friends- so we get to chat while they swim. John will play with the toys they have there. We are going to the Library with them on Thursday after nap. That should be fun. Grace keeps bugging me to go- so here we go!!! That's about it- nothing new. Until next time........

Winter Snow

 

 

 

 

 

We have a great time in the snow!! Of course I'm freezing and ready to go in LONG before they are- but I do what I can to try to stay out as long as they want to. We have been getting a lot of snow lately but HAVE not been out in it a ton. It's soooo cold. Before it was nice to go out because it was still above 20*. Now it's like 5* or 10* NOT happening. They still like to scoop it off our back porch and dump juice on it like a homemade snow cone. Thanks to Meme and Papa for introducing this new idea to them. Ha ha

 

This weekend we just stayed around the house. Nothing much going on. Grace is the leader at school on Wednesday- so that means she brings snack, shares her favorite book with the class, and leads the class in all their activities for the day. She loves it!!! I am sure she is the quietest leader- but she still likes it. Now I have to get Valentine's Day gifts/cards for her class. He party is the 13th. I love doing all these fun things now that she's in preschool.

 

Ok that's about it. Happy Super Bowl Everyone!!

Fishy Foo Foo

So Grace got a new fish for Christmas. The last one died rather quickly. I am happy to announce that this one is 1 month old. Ha ha. She named him Fishy Foo Foo. They both love watching him swim. I know it's kind of hard to see- but this was the only picture I had.

 

We had a busy day today. We started at swim class. Grace is doing so well. I told you she moved up again - she swims great all be herself. Then we went to my gym so I could get a 25 minute work out- then we had a play date at this place called Xtreme Bounce.  Some of her school friends were meeting us there. John went too and they had a blast. It was a lot of fun. After that we came home for lunch and then naps. That's about it!!! 

Sleeping Bags

 

 

 

 So I just realized that I have A LOT of catching up to do. This was Christmas Day at our house. They both got sleeping bags. They still love them!!! Grace is sleeping in hers now. She like it on top of her bed. What they like the best is when they get inside and I pull them around and around. They giggle the whole time. Yes- it gets exhausting- but whatever keeps them happy!!

 

This snow can go away. I've had just about enough. I am ready for Spring and warmth. See I LOVE the snow- and the whole winter thing- but after Christmas I am ok if it warms up again. Plus when it's super cold out- we stay indoors. I have a rule - under 20* we don't go out. We were out this weekend in it. And as I look out the window- more is coming down.

 

That's about it. We have just been hanging around going here and there!!!

BLOGGING TIME....

Below are a few new posts but I have to say that my blog is working now bc I deleted some things from my tool bar. My sister (Krista) had made this suggestion to me- I tried it - and now it works. SO... if anyone has had this problem before- try cleaning things up!! Ha ha

 

I had to add this post bc I'm sure everyone will want to know what happened, right?!

Two Munchkins!!

"Mom look at John.... he's sitting on me!" Said Grace one day. I busted out laughing and said stay put so I can take a picture. John John John!!! He is always wanting to hug her, wrestle with her, sit on her, just anything that involves climbing all over her. Sometimes she likes it- sometimes NOT at all. Anyway they were so cute!!

 

Today was a fun day. Grace has swim class and she is doing awesome!! She moves up next week bc now she swims independently. So I am excited for her. Then we went to my gym so I could go for a quick run- they both loved it- and played so well with the other kids. Then since John saw Chucky- he kept saying " CHuk Chuk" Or something like that- so we went there again. Of course they had a blast as always!!! That was about it. NO MORE going outside. TOOOOOOOO cold for me.

 



Gummy Candy

This is Grace's favorite thing to do. It's called Gummy Candy... and yes it's shipped to us all the way from Japan. See she watches "HOW TO's" on her IPAD on every topic. She found how to make gummy candy a while back. Santa brought her some at Christmas- but then Momma had to reorder some bc she LOVES doing it. She  also watches How to make green slime, How to bake a cake, How to swim, How to make jewelry. I'm serious- no cartoons-  no shows- strictly HOW TO'S!!! It's kind of funny. I can't believe it's that interesting to her. But it is. Ha ha

YES!!!! It's working!!!

The good news is... my blog is working- the bad news is... I have sooooo many pictures to add I don't even know where to begin. Ha ha.... so I thought I should start off with John since he was 19 months recently. I was going to post one of these pics.

 

The second pic is his good ol "say cheese" face. Love it!! He is changing all the time. Talking about anything and everything. His new sentence is, " (Name) Where are youuuuuu?" Like he will say anyone's name and ask where they are. It's soooo cute!!!! He is sooo silly!!! I'll try to post a few new ones tonight. I'm gong to look through some more pics now.

Few Favs!!!

 

 

 

So... as you see... I still can't get my blog to work. My friend had told me she had the same problem and it was her computer. I think this is the case. too. Adeyiza had a long work weekend- so I have not asked him to help me. I will though- but until then- I will assume it's my computer. It's old and tired- so we'll see.

 

We've been having a nice relaxing time these past few days. Nothing really interesting going on. I took the kids to IHOP for breakfast yesterday after we went to the gym. Adeyiza was going to come with us- but he got called in while we were at the gym. So we dropped him home and off we went. They did great. Grace of course always gets her pancakes. She loves to try all the syrup they have- and John always likes their oatmeal. We ate- payed- and left all in 30 minutes. See the key is short and sweet.  I ordered as I was putting them in their chairs- and she brought the food within 5 minutes. It was great. After that we went home and played for a bit- and then napped. Oh I took Grace  swimming with her friend at a hotel. We have play dates with them often- and they had a plumbing issue- so they stayed a few nights at our favorite hotel. They had a blast in the hot tub and pool. It was the same hotel that we all stayed at when Adeyiza was interviewing for U of M so it brought back great memories. I remember being pregnant with John- and so nervous about the whole job situation. I thought it would be so cood to live in MI. And... well... here we are!! Ha ha....

 

Tomorrow is MLK Day so no school for Grace. We will probably go to the gym ( which they both still love) and then I am not sure what we will do the rest of the day. 

 

John is doing wonderful!! No more skin issues- No more medications of any sort- No more problems eating (he eats a lot when he wants to- and doesn't when he's not hungry) and I think that's it- but he's just all around better. Oh sleeping..... he will still get up- but it's improved soooo much. I am very thankful.

 

Grace is fine too. She keeps asking for a puppy and now constantly repeats the following statements/questions;

"Mom can my puppy sleep with me?"

" I will take my puppy out for walks!"

" I will feed my puppy every day... but not too much- he'll get a tummy ache!"

"I'll tell him not to poo poo on the floor!"

"Santa will bring me a puppy!"

 

 

And so on... you get my drift. However.... NO NO NO we are not getting a puppy. I don't care how cute she looks when she is asking me... it's not happening ANY time soon. Just telling it how it is.

Happy 19 Months John!

OK so I still can't blog new pictures. Adeyiza is home now so I'll have him help me this weekend.

 

I thought I should still blog with old pics just so I can keep everyone up to date.

 

Tomorrow John is 19 months. I just can't believe it! He is growing up so fast. He's talking so much more- and just so silly. He is now staying at the gym and LOVING it. He also loves going to church still. I am soooo happy with this. Now I can work out- and he can play - all in ONE!! Grace loves going too. Actually we all went today and the played, painted, and just had fun with the gals there.  I know this- bc I can watch them through a monitor.And yes- John is moving all over!! NO longer in one spot. Ha ha

 

OH and Grace swam independently today. She was getting so close- and now she can. I was so happy when the teacher showed me.  It's so amazing to watch her growth as a swimmer. She's been asking to take dance classes. So this summer I may drop gymnastics and start dance. YES!!! I 've  been waiting for her to want to dance. I've always wanted to be a "Dance Mom". Ha ha just joking. (It's a show and they are pretty nuts). Anyway- I think should would love it.

 

Nothing much is going on. We are just keeping busy with play dates and just our normal fun things we do. 

 

 



Little Grace

I laugh at the side bows now. I knew I would. That was like the only hair style I ever did. Note to self- change it up IF I EVER have another girl. Ha ha. Grace at 7 months..... so cute and chunky.

We had a busy day today. We went to swim class- (John likes to play there) and then I took them both to my gym. YEAH another successful gym day. They both played and painted while they were there. Then I thought- lets go do something fun!! So... since Chucky Cheese is right next door- we went there to play. We were the only ones the whole time. Boy they have fun. They play, get tickets, and then play some more until lunch time. They always eat lots of pizza- I get the salad bar so that they can nibble on some veggies too. It's just a great time. We went home and they took a nap. This afternoon we just hung out around the house. Tomorrow is a school day so early bed time. That's about it for now!!!

Updates

 

A couple weeks old. I have to admit- I miss this stage. I love all stages!!

 

 

OK so the problem is that I can't upload anything new. I am not sure what is going on... so I thought in the mean time- I would show you a few old pics. Can't believe how much they change. Just sooooo crazy how fast time flies.

 

Anyway- we have some super GREAT milestones that we accomplished this week already. So... Sunday at church- John started a new class for 18-24 months. Not only did he NOT cry.... he didn't want to come out of the class. It was so funny. He was fine when I dropped him off- and then when he saw me at pick up- he started playing again. Ha ha He eventually came running- but he was happy as can be. Then today.... he stayed at the gym while I did a quick 2 miles. He was so funny- he didn't cry at all- but he did stand in the SAME exact spot for the whole 24 minutes. I came in and asked if he stood there the whole time? They said yes- and they kept rolling the ball and trucks to him. He would roll them back and stuff all while standing in the same spot. He is so silly. He was just being shy. When he saw me he was happy and smiling. This is HUGE- as most of you know- he never let me work out. Which meant either- A. I had to find a sitter- or B. I couldn't work out. So now it's on... I'm ready to start training for my 10K.  That's about it- I will keep working on trying to figure out what the problem is. I have so many pics that I feel behind- so this isn't helping. Ha
