At the Museum!!

Adeyiza and I took the kids to the museum last week. Adeyiza was feeling better so we thought we should enjoy his last few days off. They had a blast!!! (As you can see.) I should be taking them more often- but man... it's a lot of work. They go everywhere- and the two really can't be left alone- so I'm constantly jugging where they are. But I love doing new things- and I love when they have fun!!! We will go back again soon. Especially in the winter! 

Plum Kids

They are both loving plums right now. I can hardly keep them stocked!! We had a great day today. Busy morning with gymnastics and errands- then this afternoon we went to the park to play for a bit. The weather was pretty nice. Not too hot and the sun wasn't intense as usual. Tomorrow we have a play date in the afternoon- and then Thursday we are going to my friend's lake. Friday I have things to do in the morning and then Mama is going out to eat with my two friends from Adrian. It's been a while since we've had a girls night. Actually - I don't think we've had one since I've been home. I'm a tad scared to leave John- so my dear friends are coming to Saline (closer to me) in case I have to leave. I will feed him, put him to bed, and hope he stays asleep. Adeyiza will be fine putting Grace to bed- it's just John is such a stinker!!! He is having a terrible time when I leave. I know  I mentioned that before- but it's still bad and not getting any better. He's literally glued to my hip!! BUT- can't say I don't love it!! I am trying to enjoy every bit of it. It just makes me sad when he cries. Anyway- I'm excited to get out for a bit anyway. That's about it for now. I still have a bunch of new pics I'll keep posting. I just got back from a walk (love walking at night). So I need to cool down and relax before bed. NIGHT!

Cousin Sleepover #2!

Grace kept bothering Mason- so night #2 we had to separate them. She is so wired when someone sleeps over. Poor Mason just wanted to go to bed.



Still movie time.......

This was at dinner. I cooked steak, asparagus, pasta, and garlic bread. Mason said, "Wow this is the bomb steak! You should put the recipe online!"  So sweet.  Night  #2 I made them spaghetti (with my own special sauce) corn, and french bread. His response to my sauce was, " Wow this is the best sauce  I've ever had!"  LOL later  I heard him tell his mom (my sister) that Aunt Anna makes her own sauce- and that I just "make it up" but it's good. He told her I had corn, onions, meat, and stuff in it. So I am glad he liked my home cooked meals. NO take-out meals when I have the kids!! I want them to remember me by something!! ha ha.

We had a great time with Mason here. He was so good with the kids and we can't wait until next time. Next we will have Lance stay with us. I'm sure that will be fun too. It's too bad we didn't live a tad closer to Adeyiza's family. I'm sure the boys would love a turn to stay too. Maybe one day we can fly them here for a turn!!!

My Little Gymnast!

I know, I know, I know,,,,, it's been a while. We've been kind of busy I guess. The one night I had extra time- my computer was not cooperating with me. Anyway- I will catch you all up now.

First - this picture is Grace in her gymnastics outfit. We were headed out the door so I thought I would snap a few pics. She loves gymnastics!! I will probably keep her in some kind of class from now on.

Adeyiza is doing great! He is seeing patients on Fridays (no operating until August!). He is starting to get back to his self again. He is still soar at times- but nothing serious.

This past week we had Mason stay with us  for 2 nights!! I have tons of cute pics I will post this week.

We've been at my parents house since Wed. afternoon. The kids love it there. They have so much to do!!! They go to bed late and wake up early!! Right now as we speak - they are both sleeping and have been since 7!! They were so tired and ready for bed. Grace hates leaving. She cries and cries!!! It makes me sad too - but I am just thankful we are a car drive away. It would be so hard if we were in another state!! NEVER again!!!  John is doing fine. They had a photo shoot on Saturday. I can't WAIT to see the pictures. I honestly don't know what to expect. They were not on their best behavior- so we'll see!!! And Grandma- if you read this I PROMISE TO SEND YOU TONS OF PICTURES!!! I feel bad that I'm not good at mailing pics- but especially to my dear grandma. So I will!!!!

I think that's about it. We have a family reunion this weekend coming up- but other than that- nothing going on.

I will post my new pics this week. At least I hope so!!!

Daddy Time

Oh boy these kids are going to miss daddy being around all the time!!! It's actually been fun for them to see him always here. John CONSTANTLY calls out, " daddy... daddy.... daddy!" almost all day. And Grace of course is the same way. She's always wanting to climb his back for pony rides. However- this pony has a hurt knee- so no on all 4's! But he tries to find other ways to play. I really thought they would have drove him crazy by now- but they've been pretty good and so far his time off has been fun. We are keeping busy though. We have 2 doctor apts. tomorrow and then again on Friday. (I think I said that already!) Tomorrow he gets his stitches out and we see if he can drive. He is REALLY hoping he can. Hmmm perhaps he's tired of being so dependent on me. Ha ha. It's ok- I think he kind of likes it!! So I will keep you all posted on what the doc says!!

Cooking at the Lakehouse!

Grace loves to help Grammy and Papa cook. I guess she loves to help me too. Sometimes I can let her- other times John is screaming b/c he's so hungry that I have to hurry up. But for the most part- she is a great help.

This past weekend was pretty good. Saturday we tried to go out to see Spiderman....... but 20 minutes into the movie my sitter text  me and said John's been crying for an hour and she doesn't know what wrong with him. He even threw up. So I got home and she did get him to calm down- I took him- and he eventually went to sleep. We did get  a refund - so it was all good!! Then- we all went to church on Sunday- Yup... they paged me too. I had to get him 10 minutes after I dropped him off. He was soooo  upset. I took him and again..... fast asleep on me. So I came to the conclusion that he is going through bad separation anxiety. Grace did all this too. But she eventually grew out of it. So it's all a matter of time. Well I hope anyway!! Sunday afternoon we went to Adeyiza's work picnic. It was fun. The kids had a blast swimming and being around all the people. Grace had her face painted and they both got tattoos.After that day they were pretty tired come bed time!!

Today we didn't do too much. Adeyiza had an eye doctor apt. so we dropped him off and then went exploring. I parked the car at the office- put them in the stroller and walked!!! We ended up finding the cutest park ever!!! It was tucked away behind trees ( I Know- be careful) But it was around a lot of people so it was fine. It even had a river with a bunch of bridges. They both loved climbing over the bridge and "on top" of the water. Anyway- we played, had a snack, drank a TON of water, and then headed back to the car to wait for Adeyzia. It got HOT!! So we sat in the AC for a while as we waited. He came shortly after- so home we went!! Later that afternoon we played outside then went to DQ! Love DQ! They had a nice time too. That's all today. 

My Silly Boy!

John is so silly these days!! He is starting to talk more and more. Here are a few words he says:

"Uck" = Yucky

"Uh- Oh"

"Opt" = Stop

Mama - Daddy

"ggy" = doggy

"UMP" = Jump

"Bb" = Book

"Boo" = blue

"bud" = bird

Ummmm .... he says a lot more- I just can't think of any more right now.

So Adeyiza had his 2nd PT Apt. We have 3 next week. Mon-Wed. (2 on Wed.) - And Friday (2) He did pretty good today. They really worked him out. I did get a sitter today bc it was smack dab in the middle of nap time. So I left them here to sleep. I stayed with Adeyiza for the most part- but ran an errand while I had a chance. I have a great plan for next week. Since the PT place is on Domino's Farms- the kids and I will drop him off, go to the farm to see the animals, and then pick him back up!! Most of his apts. are in the afternoon after nap. A couple in the morning- so we will make it work. It's actually nice having him hear. Ok- I will admit the first 2 nights were a bit difficult- but now he's doing better so it's good. Plus- I get used to having adult communication now during the day. Ha ha...., anyone who stays at home with little ones understand how that goes!! So overall things are pretty good. I took the kids to the lake yesterday. WE had a blast. I'm afraid to take pics b/c my eyes are glued to them the WHOLE time. They both love the water and so I'm on the move constantly. No time to get the camera let alone take a picture. Tomorrow we Will go for our usual Saturday morning run- and then feed the ducks. Boo hoo- Adeyiza will not be with us this time. But once he's back on the go he can run again too!!! Then on Sunday we have a work picnic. It's an annual picnic that his work puts on. Suppose to be fun for the kids- so we thought we should go. They will be happy to see him I'm sure. Everybody misses and loves Dr. Momoh!! ha ha. OK that's all. Time to rest a bit before something interrupts me. Good night!!



Eating

John is so independent these days. I don't think I've fed him myself since.... hmmmmm.. it's been a LONG time! I mean I've tried- but NOPE he wants the spoon and goes to town. I love it!! I remember it took Grace FOREVER to feed herself!! It's nice to be able to just put food down and let him do what he wants. YES- it's a complete mess when he's done and I usually end up changing his clothes. But whatever... it's all cleanable right?!?! 

He LOVES oatmeal in the mornings and LOVES yogurt!!! He will actually eat most anything. He will even try new things- and spit it if he doesn't like it. I am just pleased that he tries them. Grace to this day is very picky and won't try new things anymore.

Nothing else is really new. Still just busy with Adeyiza and the kids. I'm taking them to a lake tomorrow. We've been there before. It's about 20 minutes from here and it's a lot of fun. They have a splash pad, playground, and a lake you can swim in. I thought since the weather is so nice we better take advantage of it.

Adeyiza is getting better each day. Stronger and more active!!!

Adeyiza is getting better every day. Still painful at times- but better. We had his first Physical Therapy apt. on Monday. They took off the bandages, took X-rays, and showed him how to do many strength training exercises. Since his quad muscle was so weak- they sent home a machine that helps it flex. It's kind of gross actaully. All of a sudden his muscle contracts. I don't know- not too many things gross me out- but this kind of does. Besides that he has many exercises to do. He will be going to PT 3 times a week. We go again on Friday. They last about an hour each time. Sometimes I will take the kids- other times I will try to get a sitter. It just depends on the time. I am not one to take my kids to a place like that during nap time and/or a bad time. So if possible I'll get a sitter. If not- then we will drop him and pick him up. He will be able to drive 3-4 weeks. He's getting a little stir crazy at home but not too bad. I took him to a coffee shop today so he could work on stuff. That seemed to help. I know it's hard for him to sit home. So whatever makes his days go fast- I'll do it!!! Anyway- that's about it. Kids are doing pretty good. John is getting better- and Grace is just fine. She loves to help him do things. And he's been so good at teaching her how to do them too. I know the kids will wonder where he is when this is all over. They've never seen him home this much.  They will miss him!!! 

John Boy

John climbs on EVERYTHING!!!! I can't turn my head for 2 seconds and he's doing something like this!!! Anything that is a little off the ground..... oh John will try to climb it. He wants to get into everything he possibly can. Now he even looks at me... goes to whatever he knows he can't ... and then start doing what I told him NOT to do in the first place. He gets a thrill out of getting in trouble.  My sweet Grace never did anything like this. NOW I am REALLY understanding why people say boys and girls are different. John is one busy boy!!!!

Adeyiza is still doing good. Painful sometimes- ok others. It's just a day to day thing I guess. I am keeping him iced up and as comfortable as I can. I am glad Grace is having fun at the Lake. It's kind of boring here for now!! Well for the kids I guess... can't say I'm bored. It's just so hot so outside playing is limited. Plus I can't leave Adeyiza for too long at this point. So next week I am hoping to find some creative things for us to do.

Feel Better Fast Daddy!!

So Adeyiza had his surgery on Thursday. We Thank God everything went ok. My parents came here on Wednesday night to help us with the kids. WE  really appreciate all they do for them (and us). It really helped us a lot. We were at the surgery center from 7:15 to 1:30 - so I know they had a fun filled day. I love the card Grace made for him. Grammy still has her creative touch!!! Anyway- we came home and have been laying low. My parents actually took Grace home with them to help us even more. It truly has been helpful. Adeyiza seems to be doing better. Painful - but he is doing ok. John on the other hand..... wants to always sit on him, pull his foot, pull at the cool water machine, climb the water machine, and on and on. Lets just say I've been trying to keep him busy and away from Adeyzia. He's a good boy though. It is busy around here- so if I don't post for a while- that's why!!!

Catch Up Time!

I know it's been a while!! I guess we've just been busy. So.... I'll try to catch up with everything. We left for Chicago on Friday. Dropped the kids off, and we were on our way!! We had a WONDERFUL time. It's nice to be able to go on mini trips without the kids. We got to Chicago and walked around for a bit!! Then we went to our hotel and did our 2 favorite things. Adeyiza slept, and I took a bath. I used to take a bath every night before I had kids. Now it's just not the same. I occasionally get to, but the few times I tried... low and behold John would wake up. So sometimes it's just easier to give it up altogether. Anyway- then we went out for dinner and enjoyed the night life before calling it a night!! The next day we walked and walked and walked!! Then we saw the Cubs play the Astros. My two favorite teams!! Ha ha. We were so tired that we stayed in that night and fell asleep so early. That was nice though to just relax for once. However..... I'm just not a sleeper I guess. I would wake up still every once in a while. I don't know what's wrong. Perhaps I missed the kids just a little bit. But it was nice. Oh and then we had our One Year anniversary Sunday. We didn't do anything because we were on our way home (obviously) so we counted our Chicago trip as Adeyiza's birthday AND our Anniversary!!!!

The picture above are Adeyiza's crutches for his upcoming surgery Thursday morning. He had tore his ACL (and something else that I can never remember) so he has to have surgery to fix it. My parents are coming down to help watch the kids while I take him to the hospital. Man- good thing we have my parents so close by. They save us ALL the time in situations like this. So we pray for a smooth surgery and quick recovery. It's going to hard for him to be here for a month... I am sure!!! As it gets crazy around here OFTEN! And plus he's not one to just sit. So I will try to keep the kids out of the house as much as possible. We have plans to possibly stay with my sister for a few days later on after I know Adeyiza can walk. Until then... I better stick around and be a good nurse!!!

Ummmm I think that's it. The kids are doing great. Playing and enjoying this weather. Well unless it's too hot. Then we find indoor activities to do. So... until next time!!
