Chicken Boy!!

 

 

 

John is loving his chicken lately.... including the bone!! I think he watches his daddy eat his chicken bc he is doing the same thing!! He is eating so well lately - I'm thrilled!! He will say over and over again - "chiken - ice" which is Chicken and rice!! That's my boy. Oh and I usually don't allow his feet on the table- I just wanted to get this picture first before I told him to put his foot down. Ha ha

Birthday Tradition

 

 

I wanted to start a new family tradition now that the kids are getting older- so I've decided to have them get ready for Christmas by first celebrating Jesus's birthday. I mean.. come on.... that's what Christmas is right? Jesus first - Santa second. Well at least in this house it will be. So.... we baked a cake, made birthday cards, and decorated the dining room for Christmas Day. In our cards- is private- I can't blog every detail. Ha ha but really- I just want them to wake up and be excited about the fact that it's Jesus's birthday. They were- but then they saw the presents and their excitement changed to that. Oh well- it's our first year with this new tradition. I still have a few things to work out I guess. That's about it. We have been enjoying our time off. More pictures to come!!!

Christmas 2012

 

 

 

Wow I have so many pictures to post- I don't even know where to begin. However- for now this one will do. This was at my parent's house on the Sunday morning before Christmas. We all went to church. Actually- it was one to remember. We were asked to light the advent candles. John was such a good boy. Why? Because he was sleeping the WHOLE entire time. But that meant I was able to stay and enjoy the service. He slept through the lighting of the candles too. It was nice!! Grace goes up to the front for children's time- that's cute too!! Then she went to junior church with Meme. When we got home we stayed around for a little bit - then went home. We had a great time Christmas Eve- j preparing for Jesus's Birthday. I have lots of pics of them on this day too. We went to my grandma's house on Christmas day. I have a few pics- but not many. More to come!!!!

Then Santa came. They were all so excited.

 

Grace doesn't make eye contact- and won't say much... but as soon as we are gone she tells me all about it!!! She just loves Santa.  Ha ha

 

 

 

This was her class with Santa. It was a nice time and the kids had fun.

 

 

Grace and John are pretty much all better. A runny nose- but that's it. Well I'm sure John may have his ear infections still- but I guess I really don't know. He is on his antibiotic for 10 days- but he acts fine- so I'm not sure. I am glad it's all over before Christmas. We are traveling tomorrow- and then on Christmas Day- but that's about it. Grace's is off from school, swimming, and gymnastics until January 4. Time to relax and enjoy.

Smart Boy

 

 

 

Always wanting to help mommy!! He even unloads the dishwasher, wipes spills, cleans the floor, and folds laundry. Let's just say things I used to do in 20 minutes now takes 2 hours. But- sometimes- it's just easier to let go and get help right???

Puzzle Fun

Here are a couple cute pics from my birthday day. First it was Grace and Papa doing the puzzle- then I look over and it was Adeyiza. Too funny!! Doesn't that seem right though? Sometimes you just can't resist the kids toys. It's just fun!!!

I was so thankful to have mom and dad here last weekend.... but something was different. I just can't put my finger on it. Oh well... we had fun. 

He's Coming Around!

 

John boy is doing better today. Last night was his first really good sleep. I mean... he still didn't sleep through the night- but it was better than the previous nights.  He seemed to be happier today too. Still a little fussy- but better. Amen to that!!! I still have 8 days on the antibiotics for his ear infections- but I think he will be fine tomorrow or the next day. Their colds are starting to break up too. I would say Grace is almost 100% better- and John is on his way. So YAY to that!! I'm glad it's going to be done before our Christmas gatherings. That's no fun!! They would much rather play and be with the family.  OK that's all for now!!!

This was last week before these two got sick. However.... I do have some good news. Grace is much better today- and I think John is feeling a tad better too. The antibiotics really won't kick in for 48 hours- so maybe it's all in my head- or perhaps it's the Tylenol- but he was in a good mood tonight. At night is when it's the worst- so we will see how he sleeps tonight.

 

Oh and back to the cupcakes - we had fun making them. The funny thing is... no matter what sweet thing we make- they eat like 2 bites and then they are done. So that's good I guess. That's it for now. I'm going to relax for a bit!!! I'll keep you posted on John boy.

Poor Johnny Boy!

 

 

My poor baby boy is still sick. He had an 18 month apt. (thankfully) so while he was there- doc checked his ears. Come to find out.... he has a double ear infection. I felt so bad. I wish I took him earlier- but I didn't --I tried to wait it out until his apt. However- lesson learned. From now on- I will just take him in every time he has a cold. I just assumed it was what Grace brought home. But he is more prone to getting ear infections so I won't hesitate next time. Grace has never had an ear infection- so sometimes I am not sure what to look for. However- I am now!! This is #2 for John. So- he's on antibiotics no so I'm hoping and praying in no time he will feel better. Grace is getting better. She didn't go to school today- just to be on the safe side- but she will on Wed. since that's her Christmas Party. I can attend- so I'll leave John here and join her. That's about it. We are just staying home and laying low. They need to get better for this coming weekend and Christmas. I'm sure they will be. Colds come and go I guess. I am thankful it's only that. (Well and an ear infection.)

I just had to post a birthday picture tonight!!!

We are having a great time and yes I am being spoiled. Mom and dad are here to celebrate with us. I am so thankful for them and my family for making this day special.

Beans and Macaroni

 

 

 

Grace and John love to play with beans and macaroni. They dump and fill... and then do it all over again. They love when they can add water. That makes a HUGE mess- but they like it and plus I really don't care. It all can be cleaned up. I've been saving little containers of stuff around the house. They love to fill and play with "real" life objects.

 

Anyways- that's about it. They both have small colds- so night time has not been fun. But John still doesn't sleep through the night so it's really nothing new- it's just now bc he's congested it;s pretty hard to get him to go back to sleep w/o me holding him. Grace keeps sneezing and is having trouble breathing too. So for bed tonight they both have vapor rub on their chest, humidifiers going, and a good nose blow prior to bedtime. We'll see how they sleep. I'm going to keep Grace home from Gymnastics tomorrow. I almost kept her home from school today- but didn't bc she was acting normal. They said around 9:45 she was sneezing non stop and her nose is running pretty bad. So- I'll keep her home tomorrow. I better stock up of macaroni so they keep busy. Ha ha

Silly Boy

 

 

This is just a very SMALL example of what happens when I turn my head for 2 seconds. I was literally putting dishes in the sink- and all of a sudden I hear, "Whoa... whoa... whoa....!" I turn around and here was John. "Riding" the cabinet. Ha ha silly boy!! I just had to snap a shot!

 

He loves to climb up Grace's chair!!!

And once again...... his "CHEESE" face. OH John.... you just can't be any cuter.  Ha ha

 

 

 



First Snow

About a week ago we got our first snow. However.... it was for 20 minutes and very disappointing to Grace and John. It was so funny..... it was a Saturday and Grace had just woken up from her nap. Side note- (they are both very grumpy for a good 30 minutes after  waking up). So... Grace was cuddling with me on the couch and I said, "Wow it's snowing!" She jumps up.. looks out the window (pic 1) and then starts running around the house saying, "It's snowing.. snowing I want to make a snowman!" It was a "had to be here" type of funny- but Adeyiza and I were laughing so hard b/c it's like this other little girl came out of no where- it was that funny. She went from this huge grump= to the happiest kid alive in seconds. Anyway- so I took them outside to enjoy the first snow.... but it only lasted a few minutes and then it was over. NOTHING even on the ground. We haven't had snow since. I do like the snow (as long as I can still drive) so I wish we could get some soon. I want to take them out to play in it.

 

WE didn't do much this weekend. Actually nothing at all. Well I can't say nothing- we took the kids to IHOP for breakfast on Saturday. I love taking them out to eat. They are usually pretty good. John ate so well. He had pancakes and oatmeal. Grace still loves her pancakes. She usually has them every morning. John usually has oatmeal every morning- so I ordered what I knew they would eat!! ha ha Don't want to do anything that might cause a scene I guess. After that we drove past our new house- and then went home. It was a rainy day- so that was about it. Our house is coming along. The basement is finished and all the wood is around the house- probably on its way up.

 

Next weekend my parents will be coming down to see us. Why???? well you know... I'm another year older. And yes.... Grace reminds me of it everyday. She will say I'm 3 and you will be 33!!! Gee thanks for reminding me how old I'm getting. Ha oh well- it's all good. We will have cake here and then leave for a bit. Gotta love date night- and of course gotta love when Meme and Papa come down.
