Play Time

Grace is getting stronger every day. She is now starting to bounce in her seat instead of just sitting there. I am still working on her tummy time, rolling over, and sitting up. Wow so much to do!! So little time!!!

Teach Me Daddy!!!

We are starting Grace early with her studies. Adeyiza is showing her clips of surgical procedures. He introduces medical vocabulary followed by a daily quiz. So far,,,, so good!!! She is really learning a lot. I told her when she gets older, like I do with daddy, I will teach her all she needs to know about each and every subject.

OK- jokes aside. Grace is doing great. I had to miss work on Friday (1/2 day) because I thought she may have had an ear infection. She keeps pulling at it along with her hair. (Now I know it's b/c she just discovered them.) Once again,,, she was fine. This is the second time I believe I over reacted and took her in. BUT,,, like they say,,, it's better to be safe than to go a whole weekend not knowing if something is really wrong. She also gained more weight. Silly girl,,, now she's at 18.02 lbs. I just love her chubby figure!!!

My Favorite Toys

Grace found two new toys in Michigan. My sister let her use these,,, and she just couldn't get enough. So.......we had to pack them up and take them home with us!

We're Back!!!

We made it home from Michigan,,,, safe and sound. Grace had so much fun meeting her aunts, great aunts, cousins, and my friends. I thank all of you who made an extra effort to visit Grace and I. I also thank you for the gifts you gave Grace. She loves all of her new clothes. I can't wait to put her in them and snap a picture. Take a good look Aunt Penny,,,, remember??? You said, "Maybe she can wear this when she is older!" Sorry,,,, I don't think so,,,, she can wear it now!!! Grace did pretty good on the plane. She had a few fussy moments, but overall I think she was a trooper. However,,,,,,, I did upgrade to first class on my way back. It's actually a good idea since,,,,,,,, luggage is free, you get food (if you can eat it,,, kind of hard with a baby,, I had to pass it up), and MORE SPACE!!! I can't believe how much better it really was. It helped so much. I may just have to do that from now on.

We are back in the swing of things. I am still counting down my days. I am excited about our move to Boston. However, I am going to miss Houston and the people here. I guess moving is always a bitter sweet situation. But,,,,, I just can't wait to stay home with Grace EVERY SINGLE DAY!!!:)I know Grace will miss Myra though. She is getting so used to her now. Grace gives her a big smile and looks so excited to be there. I will have to arrange play dates for them when we leave!!!!

Time to Go!!!

So I hope and pray that I have everything!!!! Wow it's different packing for two!!! I guess we've done this once before when we went to Canada, but she was smaller. I didn't have to worry about too many toys, food, and multiple outfits. So,,,, I hope I got it all. This is what she will be wearing We also got her pink shoes for the ride. We are excited,,, Grace can't wait to meet her family!!!!!

I am 5 months today!!! OK tomorrow.

We are leaving in a while,,, so I had to get her 5 months done before the trip!!! Adeyiza picked this dress out yesterday. She looks so cute in it!!!! Good taste daddy!!! We will miss you for the week. WOW,,,, a quiet house!!! Enjoy!!!

This just isn't Grace!!!!!

So I was playing around with her hair and was able to straighten in. NOPE---- I do NOT like it this way!!! I just thought I would see what it would look like not all curled up. SO,,,,, I am glad her hair stays curly,,,, and how cute it makes her look!

It's all about bath time fun!!!

Well this last picture was suppose to be first,,, but oh well. It's all about the "bath time fun!" She still loves her bath. As I am rinsing her,,, she has her mouth WIDE open looking at the bowl I use. So,,,, I had to give in and let her chew on it. It's just sooooo cute,,, I can't resist!!! I just love styling her hair when it's wet. If I took all the pictures of her different hair styles,,,,, I would need two blogs,,,,,, so you just get to see a few favorites!!!! OH and check oujt her feet,,,, you think she's getting too big for her tub???? I do believe so. I need her to sit up on her own so I can get rid of that infant holder. We will keep working on that!!!!

Momoh Martians!!!!

(I had to post this for my wonderful kids at school. I showed them her blog in January, and lets just say they won't let a day pass with out seeing her. If I forget,,,,, towards the end of the day they will remind me. NO MATTER WHAT!!! It's so cute though, they do love to see the blog. So today they asked me to snap a picture of her sleeping. Funny thing is, I already did last night. I went and took another one tonight to show them.)

OK Martians,,, this is for you!!! You wanted a picture of her sleeping,,, so here it is. The top picture is the one I just took tonight. She went to bed around 7:30. I tip toed in her room, in the dark, and snapped a picture just for you! I am glad I didn't wake her up. It was so dark that I had to have my flash on. I am glad it turned out for you to see. The two bottom pictures are from last night. I put her in my bed for a minute while I was cleaning her room. I hope you like them. Oh I almost forgot,,,,,,she told me to tell you to do a wonderful job on your benchmarks Tuesday and Wednesday!!!! She wants to know your scores. I will tell her,,,,,, so do your best!!!!!

I love my chew toy!!

Grace just loves to chew on a pacifier. It's so funny,,, every part goes in her mouth but the nipple. I am bringing one on our flight to MI. I hope it will help pass some time for her. I pray she does ok. I am kind of nervous. She doesn't sleep that much any more, so I am hoping I can keep her entertained the whole time. We will see!!!

Sing With Me!!!!!

She loves her sing along book! She smiles and giggles when it plays. One day she will be able to sing along!!!!!

I'm ready for bed mom...... It's not play time!!!

This was tonight after her bath. Usually after bath time I keep a hat on her hair so it dries. We don't want the pretty girl sick!!! She was so sleepy tonight when we were done. I fed her and she was out!!! However,,, she did wake up shortly after for a snack!!

One last post!! This is what I do before we go. I pack our bags, line everything up, and then out the door we go!!! She looks just so cute in the morning!!!

In my crib!!!

Grace really loves being in her crib. This was today in the morning. Before we left I put her in there to take a picture. I was trying to have a different background besides the same old ones that I usually have. So,,, I hope you like it!!!

Grace is doing great. Myra said she is really adjusting and seems to have a good routine. I am so happy!!! Man,,, I just can't be more grateful. I know I have the best situation. Myra brings her to me everyday after school,, 15 min. early so I can hold her before we go home. Other teachers at school say, "What? Your baby is brought TO YOU????" Myra spoils me, my teacher friends spoil me (especially Lacey and Carlie,, I couldn't survive at school with out them), and my long term sub spoils me (She stills comes to sub when ever I need her, not to mention helps me in my class!). What did I do to ever deserve all of this????? I know what I have to do...... PAY it forward (watch the movie,,,,, it's good with a great lesson!) OK,, happy Thursday!!!

Found them!

OK so I found the 4 month picture file. I had to post my two other favorites. I know most of you have seen them, but I just had to post these too.

Sometimes I like it,,,, Sometimes I don't!!!

As you know, Grace doesn't take a pacifier. I don't have anything against them, I guess it's just a "family thing". My parents never used them, my sister never used them, so I followed and never used them as well. No reason behind it for any of us,,,, it's just something we didn't do. BUT,,, a while back we did try to use one when she was unbearable to put to bed. (Yes she grew out of that stage like everyone said.) But she still refused it, so I never tried again. I was playing around yesterday and stuck one in her mouth. She loved it!! However, it popped right back out. So, needless to say,,, she definitely will not be using one. By now she doesn't need one anyway,,,, but I was just seeing what she would do. She will hold one and suck on every part but the nipple, so that's ok. It's kind of like a toy to her. I think I will bring one on the plane when we travel to keep her busy. OH YES,,,, I can't wait,,,,, less than 2 weeks!!! I am sooooooo excited to see my family. Most of them haven't even met Grace yet. I hope she greets them with open arms. This has been the longest time away from home ever!!! I am sure we will have a blast!

Jump ...Johnny... Jump!!!!

Well,,, I completed my shopping for Grace. We got her a Johnny Jump Up. I did put a blanket under her feet after I realized she was slipping on the hard floors. Where I can hang it is half carpet, and half hard flooring. So I had to do something. Plus,,, I thought that was why she wasn't jumping, but it's not. She doesn't jump at all,,, she just sits there. I can't wait to see her jumping. I'm sure she will just love it!!!
