My Little Painters!!

Grace and John love to paint. Grace can paint for an hour- but John on the other hand- a good 10 minutes. But he still enjoys it for a bit anyway. When it's really cold out- we tend to stay inside and rotate new activities. We are always out and about in the mornings- so it's nice to stay at home in the afternoons.

We will be going up to the  lake house this weekend. Grace is so excited. We haven't been there in a while- so I am sure they will have fun.

Grace keeps telling me 2 things these days. 1- she wants to play soccer like her cousin Kaitlyn- and 2- she wants a puppy. Oh no!! She will not be getting a puppy ANY time soon. That's FOR sure!! It makes me a tad sad though- bc she told me that she was going to start praying for a new puppy- and then when she sees a pic of Santa Claus she tells me she will ask Santa for a puppy. Ummmm that means not only is she going to be disappointed by Santa- but she'll wonder why God hasn't given her a puppy too. Hmmm I'm kind of stumped in this new challenging parental situation. I better seek advice from all my wise parents!! ha ha. I guess lesson #1- we don't ALWAYS get what we want?!?!?

Conference Day!

Well we had Grace's first conference today. Overall it went well. Of course she said Grace was very shy- but slowly opening up. She plays well with the kids- just not too vocal. I said just give her a month. Ha ha! Then you will want her to be quiet.  But really- other than that it went good.

Feed Me...I'll Feed You!!!

They are just too silly sometimes. They were feeding each other some Fiber One. I know.... Fiber One! Meme has all the grand kids hooked on this cereal. It's pretty good though. We always have a box here at the house. When you mix it with yogurt... Mmmm it's yummy!! They like to eat it plain though. It's fun to eat I guess.

Pumpkin Carving TIme!!!

We carved pumpkins last week. They seemed to enjoy it for the most part. I thought they would have dove right in and got all messy! But NOPE- they were both very careful and slow. I even spread wrapping paper all over just in case. Ha ha. John was the worst one of the two. He wouldn't even put his hand inside the pumpkin. He later took a little piece of pumpkin and started putting it in between his toes. SOOO silly (see in the top pic right above the last one) . We (I) got all the seeds out- and then spread them on a baking pan. We then cleaned up and it was over. I washed the seeds- and let them dry for about 3 days before we cooked them. Once again.... not very tasty. I am not a good seed cooker  I guess. They were ok- but not the best I've ever had. Perhaps next year I will do better.

Tomorrow is Grace's conference.  I can't wait to hear what her teachers have to say about her. I can pretty much predict- but I'll just wait and see. Other than that- that's about it.

Fall Picture 2012

I thought since I had a minute before nap time was over I would post her new school picture. They turned out so cute. I have 2 different poses - but this one is my favorite. She looks so big to me- as I am sure to most of you too. OK that's all... time for waking up!!

Say Cheese...Umm not cute John!!!

So this is John's  new  "say cheese" face. I'm not exactly sure what he's thinking. That it looks cute? That he's trying to be funny? That it's a nice smile? Ummm perhaps none of the above. Ha ha. He does this every time I tell him to say cheese. I'm just glad I had his one year pics before he discovered this. Ha ha. But I do admit that it is pretty cute!!! I don't think he does too many things that aren't cute. Especially these days. He sure does say a ton of words now. I can't even write them all down b/c he says pretty much most things. Not everything of course- but he will repeat me and/or ask for most things.  Such a silly boy.

He is doing well over all. Still not sleeping through the night- but what can I say- Grace didn't sleep through the night until she was 2. So  I only have a few more months right?  Even when he does sleep for longer periods of time- I find myself still waking up a lot. I guess I'm just so used to being up all the time- that it's hard to adjust. Would love to- but it's just a bit hard. One day I'm sure. His skin is pretty good. He is having a bit of a flare up right now- but very mild. He has Eczema still and once in a while it will get bad. I still have to give him anti-itching cream and medicine at night. If not he will scratch a lot during the night. Eating is about the same too. We have good days and bad days. Oh and he went poo poo on the potty. He ALWAYS wants to go. So one morning he said Poo poo- I said OK- so I put him on and away he went. It's only once in a while when he will actually go- but he's very interested so we'll see about that one. He also goes up and down stairs standing up. He will sometimes sit on his bottom- but he loves the fact that he can stand up. That's about it with John boy. He sure is growing up fast. OH and I almost forgot- he has started counting. He will say "1, 2, 1, 2" when he goes up and down stairs- or when he stacks blocks. Sometimes I will hear a "FREE" for 3- but that's about it. OK that's all!!

Face Paint / Costumes

The top 2 pictures are from the birthday party we went to on Saturday night. Like I said before- Grace loved having her face painted. I knew she would. She loves make-up already and tries to sneak some of mine ALL the time. She will take items from my make-up bag , go to her room, close the door, and say , "Mom don't come in here!"  Well gee- now I know what she's doing! Ha ha. So silly. So I have to go in her room and get the make-up from her. She always sleeps with a chapstick "lipgloss"  of mine (along with her doggy, kitty, and two babies). Sometimes she wakes up with chapstick ALL over her face. It's so funny. But actually it's a habit I"m trying to brake. She gets it all over her sheets which means washing them constantly. So anyway- my point is - is that she is 3 going on 16 and keeps telling me she can't wait until she is a little bit older like me so that she can wear make- up. Glad she thinks I'm only a "little bit" older. Ha

John was a little dragon. He would not keep his hat on- but didn't mind the outfit. I thought they looked so cute. Tomorrow we will stick around here and wait for trick-or-treaters but I'm sure we won't get any. I guess you never know. That's about it. This cold weather has us home bound for the most part. Can't say I'm enjoying being inside that much- but I am trying to keep them busy with stuff. Yesterday we carved pumpkins. They loved it. I'll post pics soon!!!!

Snow White

This was before gymnastics. They had to dress up- so Grace was Snow White.

Her BFF was Snow White too. They looked so cute together....as always!!

This was tonight. We had her other BFF's Birthday Party tonight. The kids all had a blast. They had a clown there and Grace and John LOVED it!! The clown made all sorts of balloon animals and such and then painted their faces. John didn't have his painted- I think it would have been more of a hassle anyway. Plus he didn't care to do that anyway. Grace absolutely loved having her face painted and sat still the whole time. I did have to wash it off in the bath tonight- but it helped to tell her that we will be getting her face painted tomorrow too. We have another event to attend for the kids tomorrow. So she will be excited for that!! That's about all. I just thought I would add a post with her in her costume. I'll add more when John is in his. He doesn't stay in it long- so it's hard to get pics but I'll try.

Just One of Those Moments......

This has to be the sweetest thing they did all week. So.. we were dancing to our video again....(which they usually do while I cook dinner) and one of Grace's favorite songs came on..... YES- Amazing Grace. The one she always sings and knows the words to and everything. (I had posted a video of her singing it on FaceBook- I can't do it on here- but it was so cute.) Anyway- this song came on and John gave Grace a hug and she started hugging him back- and then they both started swaying to the song while hugging. Ummm lets just say I couldn't hold in my emotions. I started crying because it was the sweetest thing I've ever seen so far. They do a lot of cute things- but this was just ONE of those moments where your heart just melts with joy and thankfulness. It was so special I was even able to grab my camera and capture this moment. I try to always have my camera by me in case things like this happen. Good thing!!! I look at the picture and just smile each time.

My Two Bg Kids

They just look so big to me. Both just eating away. It's one of those bitter sweet moments. You're excited and happy to see them so independent- but at the same time sad bc they are growing up so fast.

John is being so silly these days. He is saying a lot of words. Almost everything that I can think of right now. He knows what he wants and says it how he wants. Like here are a few examples:

"digher"  = pacifier

"darny" = Barney

"Elmo"

"ack" = snack

"OH NO" = he says this so funny with big emotion

Anyway- you get my point. He says most words now- just how he wants to say them. He loves looking at books and playing with all kinds of toys.

Grace still loves going to school. Today she made a P on my phone and said, "You jump UP and go around!" So I know she learned that from school bc I didn't teach her that saying. SO I'm glad she likes it. She also talks about her friends ALL the time. She said a little boy was "KINDA like LANCE" (her cousin) and that  she liked him and wanted him to come over to our house. Ha ha. She's so funny. I guess I better find out who COOPER is. Perhaps I should set up a play date.  That's it for tonight!

Dance Time

Grace and John love dancing to their music videos.

When are finished the rest for a little bit- then go at it again.

That's it for tonight. John went to bed late- so I have things to do!! I'll post more tomorrow. I hope!

October 15th, 2012 - - Actual Birthday

I AM 3!!!!!

GG gave them the cutest little stuffed animals!! Grace literally takes her puppy where ever we go!!! She sleeps with it every night.

Love these 2 pics of the kids with GG. So sweet!

Aunt Pam and Meme enjoying Grace and John!

Time to decorate the birthday cupcakes!
They had a blast. I may end up doing this every year!! ha ha

They were YUMMMMY!!!

We had another birthday celebration on her actual day. Meme and Papa were there already- and Aunt Pam and GG came to join us. We had a big spaghetti dinner with salad and bread sticks- and then yummy cupcakes and ice cream.

Grace had back to back parties. It's so much fun when they are excited about their special day. I love how much fun she had. She says the cutest things and she surprises me everyday. Recently she's all about "God making..... (Fill in the blank)" - which is everything. I'll give some examples below. She's just a sponge and I love how she soaks up everything.

"God made me!'

"God made my eyes, hair, and skin!"

"God made this food we eat!"

"God made this car momma!"  - this was funny. We were driving and out of the blue she said that.

"Don't be scared mama - God will protect us!"  - we were in her room and she turned out the lights. I said "wow! it's dark" and then she said that response.

"God made daddy!"

And on and on. Basically she goes over everything and how God made it. The other day she started whispering during prayer time. We were saying her bedtime prayers and she will whisper, " pray for my chin - pray for my friends" ---- or whatever it may be. It's the cutest thing. Oh and before we eat- when it's only ME- she will pray like this - "Dear God thank you for this food- thank you for swim class today and thank you for the car." Sometimes it will be different based on what ever it was we did for that day. Her first day back from school she thanked God for her new school and friends. I love it- It just melts my heart to hear her talk this way.

Anyway- that's about all. We had a great week and we are thankful for everything.
