Top Ten Things We Do At The Cottage!!!!!

OK- so we all have the "fun" things we like to do at the cottage. Grace has already conquered the first 3. Nothings like having fun at the cottage with family, food, and entertainment!!!

I could go on, but these are probably the favorite things we all enjoy!!! Especially the little ones. I guess as we (my sisters and I) get older, we really don't fight over driving the boat. Plus,,, we are all too big to sit on Papa's lap to ride the Rhino!!! I guess now it's just so much fun ti watch the little ones do it all!! Yes,,, they even want to bait the hooks!! YUCK!!!

Grace's First Ice Cream

Years and years ago..... back when I was ummmm..... 5 years old.... we would go to a place in Hudson, MI called Bobbye's Pizza. They have the best ice cream in the WORLD!!! Yes,, in good old Hudson. Well, Grace got the opportunity to visit that same place today. Aunt Pam took her for her first ice cream cone. She loved it!!! It brought back so many memories! We walked there from grandma's house just before dinner. We went to Adrian today as well to visit a few friends. What a great day we are having. We will be headed home shortly. I hope she sleeps the whole way!! We will soon find out!!

Here We Are!!!!

When we arrived to Aunt Erin's house,,, the kids were so excited. Grace has LOVED seeing her cousins. We went to the pool yesterday where they all went swimming. Today we are relaxing at the cottage!!! Who knows what tomorrow will bring!!!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Grace wanted to give her daddy as big hug on his birthday,,,, BUT,,,, he is not here YET!!!! Yes,,, my dad and Adeyiza are driving to Michigan as we speak. We've had one busy week of packing, company (good help I must add), and getting our Boston arrangements made. Grace and I made it to Michigan yesterday. We are both doing great,,, a bit tired,,, but great!! Grace did very well on the plane and now she is enjoying the nice cool weather. We are anxiously waiting for the men to get home. I felt bad that Father's Day for the two of them was spent traveling and now Adeyiza's birthday is too. But we will have to make it up to them when they get back with a good home cooked meal and time to RELAX!!!

We are excited about this move and want to thank everyone who has helped us in some way or another!!!! We thank God for how things are going so far, and continue to pray for safe travel for everyone these next few months.

Fun Times!!!

We took Grace to see all the fish in Houston!!!!! We went to the Houston Aquarium for the first time. I told Grace that I've always wanted to go and that I waited 5 years to do so with her!!!! She LOVED it!! She would look at the fish and follow them with her eyes. We then went on the Farris wheel and the carousel. She cried towards the end because it was way too hot!! She is happy to move up North where it's colder. She is a very HOT baby. THIS is my last post. I just did about 5 below!!! ENJOY!

Hair Style #3

Yes,,, I am trying to switch it up a bit. So??? What do you think? I think she looks soooo cute this way. We will see if she keeps them in her head. She sometimes pulls her hair now, so I will keep an eye on her!!!

I am 8 Months Old Today!!!!

Well I decided to switch up the back ground from pink to the theme of packing. Here she is.... 8 months old!!! She is doing great. She actually has an early check up on Friday. My sweet pediatrician allowed me to book her 9 month apt. a month early since we are moving. Also, I am not sure at this point who her doctor will be. So,,,, we will play it safe and check her out. I am sure she is just fine though. We thank God!!!

Still Packing

Grace is being such a great help packing. We are still working very hard every day. Soon enough it will all be over and we will on our way to MI,,,, and then MA!!! Wow,, how exciting!!!

Swimming with the Ford Family

Myra and the kids came over one last time before we leave. It was so sweet of them! Grace got so excited to see them. They took her swimming while I relaxed. Yes,,, it was very nice!!! They had a great time together. Grace just loves the water. I can't wait to get her in the lake. I hope she enjoys that too. OK I am off to pack some more. This is my last blog today!!!

Hair Part 2 and MY teeth!

This was after the pig tails. You can kind of see her teeth. I tried to get a good picture of them but it's hard when she's moving. Also,, LOOK at her hair! It's so thick now. The back is a bit wild. I was thinking about using kid shampoo now instead of that baby shampoo. I may even need to get some conditioner. She is something else!!! I thank God for her health and the joy she brings us everyday!!!!

New Hair Style

We were on our way swimming yesterday, and I decided to play around with her hair. I suppose it would show up better on a light background, but it's in pig tails. They looked cute,,, but she looked too old already so I took them out. Awe,,, my little girl is growing up!!

We are packing!!!

Grace and I have been very busy packing. No,,, that hair band is not for real! I was looking at all of Grace's old clothes, hair pieces, and stuffed animals/toys. I would start to pack something up, and she would grab it or at least try to. So I put this hair band on her,,,,, while she chewed on old pacifiers. It was cute! We have fun packing. It just takes a long time now that we have all of her things. But... we are making it work. She is napping right now. We had a busy morning running errands. I just realized I had one diaper left. So,,,, off to the store we went to get some supplies. Maybe when she gets up we will head down to the pool,,,,,,,,,after I finish at least 2 boxes that is!!

Graduation Day!!!

Well he is finished!!! Yippy,,, we are all so proud of him. The night went well for the most part. Ummm Grace,,, yes,,,, she was a bit fussy! But we managed. I even let her try cheese grits!!! I know,, WHAT?? But she loved them. I am going to start pounded yam this week. (Nigerian food with a stew.) We will see how it goes. Anyway,,,, now it's packing time. Today guess how many boxes I got done???? YUP 0! She stayed up all day pretty much so I didn't get any boxes packed. Just the house work. So tonight ,,, I will get started. She is in bed now and went pretty early and since I am no longer working,,, I can stay up super late!!!! I love having summers off!! I hope to post some new pictures soon!! Maybe even the ones at the pool!!!! I am trying to take her everyday. She just loves it!!!

Last Day Tomorrow

OK first of all,,, No,, I am not sure that I #1 like the hair band! OR #2 Have it on correctly. I pulled it back a bit, but then it goes in between her hair, and that was not too cute!!! BUT,,, I will keep working on NEW hair styles. Perhaps I need to get some hair rubber bands and different barrettes.

Anyway, SO,,,,, here we are! The last day of work for me tomorrow. WOW how I thought this day would never come, and NOW it's here! I still can't believe it went so fast. I know I say that over and over, but it's true. We had our class party today. It went great! Sad,,, but good! Tomorrow is the staff breakfast and last minute meetings. We get to leave early, so it's not a full day. I am hoping to leave by 10 or 11, but we will see!!! Also,,, I am sure going to miss my teacher friends. We had so much fun together.

On another note, Adeyiza's graduation is Sunday. His parents are coming Saturday. They actually had to fly to MI tonight for his brother's graduation that is tomorrow. They are leaving Sat. to fly here for Adeyiza's which is on Sunday. Busy ,,, busy they are!! But, I guess the long hull is over. One more year for the two of them and they can begin their long waiting careers. They've worked very hard and I do admire all the hours, dedication, and time that is needed in order to complete residency.

OK last thing tonight! I am working slowly on packing. It will be easier (I hope) when I am not working, but we will see. YES.... I will have more time to :blog, cook, clean, read, put pics in my albums, and of course play with Grace. That's the good thing about teaching,,, Summers OFF! I will keep everyone posted on our last day with Myra. Grace has something very special for her!! I hope she likes it!

Got Apples????

Well,,, I found a new trick that works pretty good when I need just an extra minute to get something done. YES,,,, an apple core! She loves to gnaw on it. I make sure she doesn't get any chunks,,, well who REALLY knows I guess. She just may and then swallows it before I even know. I will be very careful though,,,,,,,,,,don't worry!!!

Wow,,,, a REAL friend!

"Wow MOM,,,, you actually let me play with a REAL person instead of all those dolls!" That's what Grace is saying in the last picture. Adeyiza's cousin is here with his wife and daughter. They play so well together. It's so interesting to see Grace interact with another child. I know when she gets a tad older things will be different, as she doesn't mind the little one grabbing toys from her hand. Pretty soon it will be crying and, "Mine, mine!" Oh well,,, for now,,, ENJOY girls!!!
