Present Time!

We opened presents yesterday night since we are leaving on Friday. These pictures are in such random order... but you get the point. Adeyiza came home early so that we could all open together. Grace and Adeyzia opened their stockings together. Grace loved it!! Of course Adeyiza did too. John and I were the watchers and picture takers. John is chilling on the couch. I know... looks like he could fall. But I was right by him. I gave him a present and he really did open it. Actually Grace liked all of his stuff more!! Well ok... they each only had 2 gifts.. but that's plenty. At least this year!!! Ha ha. So then today.... yes as we speak.... tree is down... decorations are packed away!! I don't want to come home to a mess. I hope to post tomorrow- but if not Everyone have a great Christmas and I will post new pics when we get back!!

I was 6 Months on the 16th!!

Wow!! I can't believe John is already 6 months. Where or where does the time go????? He had is 6 mth check up yesterday. He is doing great. He is still my tall thin man. 47% for weight and 85% for height. We talked about a few of my concerns with eating and such. See he still has to be in a sleeping kind of mood to eat and will not eat if he's awake. So yes.... it's sometimes hard to plan things. It's not a huge problem and of course I am sooo thankful for how he is doing, so I shouldn't be complaining. He doesn't like baby food too much either. But we keep trying. One of these days he will. Also his sleeping. He is so restless pretty much all night. I thought he would have "grown" out it that by now... but NOPE!! We are night owls I guess. Other than that he is healthy and for the most part MUCH happier. He used to be VERY crabby.. but I can say that has improved!!!! THank God!!!

Christmas with the Hacketts!

We had a wonderful time at my parent's house this past weekend. We all got together for an early Christmas celebration. The kids had so much fun. They even took a 3 hour nap today. Grace had her first dentist apt. today. It went great. She just went for a clean. They said her teeth look great and to start flossing. That will be fun!!! Tomorrow is John's 6 month apt. I will post his 6 month picture then. I am getting us all ready for Winnipeg. I have a few days to organize, wash clothes, and pack. I am sure I will get it all done before Friday. We will be gone for a while. Looking forward to it!!!

Happy 32nd Birthday!!

OK here are my birthday pics. SO it went like this. Poor Adeyzia had a late night tonight on top of still having to go back out to his boss's house. So he rushed home with a beautiful cake, we sang, ate, and then he rushed out the door. I felt bad that he couldn't stay and enjoy it for a while. But that's how it is I guess. It was nice- John was sleeping so Grace and I just ate cake together. She's so silly and loves cake- so we just ate and laughed. AND yes- I did have a piece. I couldn't pass it up knowing all the hard work that went into it. We will take the rest to my parents house on Saturday. They will LOVE it!! OH and if you know how Adeyiza writes... it looks like he wrote on the cake. That's exactly how his handwriting is. I couldn't believe it. I asked him if he did the cake writing!!! OH and yes- Grace and I are in our pj's. We were winding down for the night. Hmmmm then she eats some chocolate cake. Perhaps not the BEST idea. Oh well.. it's my birthday!!! Plus she's fast asleep now. John is sleeping too...!!!

A Birthday in Michigan

I guess this would be my first birthday in Michigan,at least living here that is. The day started and continues to be nice. The "kids" left me presents in the car, and then I was off to get my hair done in Adrian. My two best friends (Sally and Carrie) gave me a wonderful surprise. See- I talked to both of them, and they had "plans" for the day. I showed up to my hair place and they JUMP out from behind the wall to surprise me. I was so SHOCKED! Almost speechless. They brought me my favorite coffee (eggnog latte), a parfait, and a birthday present to get a pedicure. They stayed the whole time while I got my hair done. We chatted and just relaxed. THANK you Sally and Carrie!! That sure was a huge surprise and it would never happened had I lived in a different state. Just another perk to living in Michigan. I wanted to put up a birthday picture but I don't have one. The one I took of us at the hair salon wouldn't come up on my computer. Tonight when Adeyiza gets home- if it's not too late, we will have cake. Grace will get to blow the candles out .... of course!!!

"Hold It"

Grace still asks to "Hold It". It's like she only calls him John when he's being "naughty". You know... chewing on her, pulling her hair, or taking her toys. THen she uses his name. Kind of funny!! I look back at when she used to hold him. WOW now he really fills her lap. They are both sleeping now. It took longer than usual tonight. One kept waking up- then the other- then both.... so I just have to keep rotating until they both pass out. I will have to give John a night time bottle in a half hour then he should be good at least until his restless night begins. Usually around 12-1 he's just moving around and really doesn't settle until morning. I can't figure it out. I change his position and keep him swaddled. If he's not swaddled he scratches his face and/or moves his hands all around. Oh well, I am hoping as he grows he will settle down more.
